Workshop Embedded Multicore Programming - Industrial state-of-the-art and future directions

The workshop on Embedded Multicore Programming - Industrial state-of-the-art and future directions was organized during the HiPEAC Spring CSW in Edinburgh. This event, organized by the Eurolab4HPC project in cooperation with HiPEAC and TETRAMAX, focused on architectural enhancements, novel programming models and tools to allow programmers to efficiently utilize future multi-core processors.

The topics of the workshop ranged from architectural simulation tools for future parallel architectures over hierarchical task-based programming models to cache enhancements for more efficient data movement in large multi-core systems. A highlight of the workshop was the presentation of Silexica’s SLX toolsuite, which allows for the automatic parallelization of sequential legacy code.
